RSAT tutorial - using RSAT VirtualBox virtual machine
This tutorial explains how to install, configure and use an
RSAT server installed on your computer as
VirtualBox Virtual Machine
(VM).
The current version runs under Linux Ubuntu 14.04, with two flavours:
- Server version: requires less disk space.
- Desktop version: disk-consuming, but more confortable if
you want to use the full features of the Linux graphical
user interface.

Requirements
- In order to ue RSAT VM, you must
install Oracle VirtualBox VM
software ().
Getting an image of the RSAT VM

RSAT VM is released in as an Open Virtual Appliance (ova)
file (current release: rsat-vb-ub14s_2014-08-31.ova).
Configuring VirtualBox
- Open the VirtualBox program.
- Open VirtualBox Preferences,
- Click on the network option.
- Click on the tab "Host-only Networks" (snapshot).
- Check if a host-only adapter is already installed. If
not, click on the + icon to create a new one.
- Double-click on the host-only adapter and check its parameters.
Importing the RSAT appliance
Using RSAT appliance as a Web site
